First Christian Church has begun a 12-Step Recovery Group called “Recovery through Jesus Christ”. This group is for anyone who has hurts, hang-ups, and habits (habits with negative outcomes) and those with post abortion concerns. Substance abusers and the ACA (adult children of alcoholics) are the focus of the group’s beginning stages, but this ministry is also open to those who need help to process other painful issues. It is not a counseling group, but the goal is to meet the needs of Christians (or seekers) who are looking for answers and support.

Come see a presentation on the biblical city of Bethsaida, the home of Peter, Philip and Andrew. A major hub in the ministry of Jesus Christ. Residence of King Herod Philip the son of Herod the Great and tetrarch of Gaulanitis (the Golan heights), Batanaea (or Basan, the southern part of modern Syria), Trachonitis and Auranitis (Hauran). Also the home of King Talmai the father of Maacha the wife of King David who bore him his third son Absalom. Pastor Mike will not only share his experience while on his two week archaeological dig at Bethsaida last year, but will give an overview of Bethsaida's significance and the results of a couple of decades of archaeological examination of this most interesting and significant site.
